Mattie Oliver is chosen as our “Jason Legg — Go-To Gal” Award Winner.

Jason Legg was a young man of 29 when he was tragically taken home to heaven.  In his young life, Jason left a lasting impact on those who knew him.  He was a passionate person.  He was a person who got things done. To honor his memory and help continue his legacy, the Family of Jason Legg, his church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes have created the “Jason Legg: Go-To-Guy Award”.  At Jason’s funeral, FCA State Director, Keith Tyler, spoke of how Jason was one of his “Go-to guys” because Keith knew that he could count on Jason and that the results would be solid.

This year, Mattie Oliver was selected to receive this special honor.  Mattie Oliver is a rising Senior at St. Albans High School.  She finished her Junior year with a GPA of 4.4 while being active in FCA, school and church.   Mattie has been a part of FCA for 6 years and has been on the leadership team for the last 3.  She enjoys volunteering with her church in the nursery and leading worship.  She has served as a camp volunteer at Howells Mills for 3 years and has enjoyed attending as a camper for 9 years. Mattie also has played basketball, ran track and danced.  Mattie is the youngest of four girls and plans to attend WVU to study nursing after graduation.  She and her family enjoy game nights, kayaking, walks with the dog and traveling.

We are thankful for committed students like Mattie.  They make a huge impact on their campuses with the gospel by using the ministry of FCA to reach their peers.  Thank you, Mattie, for being the 2019 FCA Go-To Gal!
